People hold one of the above passports can still apply for a similar visa called the Work and Holiday Visa (subclass 462). Grabatour Travel cannot apply for this visa for you, however once you obtain this visa it will allow you to participate in the Oz Gap Year programme.

To be eligible for a working holiday visa, applicants need to meet the following requirements:

Not be accompanied by dependent children at any time during their stay in Australia

After haggling a bargain and exploring the wonders of Queen Victoria Market’s many stalls, we will spend the afternoon in the most Melbourne way possible, eating and drinking.
It feels like Melbourne has more food establishments than anywhere in the world so we thought the best way to showcase that was to create an exclusive food tour just for you….SO WE DID!

Another bucket list item ticked, two in one day!

We only work with the best. YHA Australia is the most reputable hostel chain in the world and we include:
– 6 Nights at YHA Metro Melbourne (extra can be arranged).
– 1 Night at YHA Phillip Island.
If you wish to pre-book an extra night’s accommodation on the final Sunday please let your travel advisor/group leader know and they will do this for you.

In your hostel in Melbourne, you’ll enjoy modern facilities in shared dorm accommodation with other members in the group. Sharing in hostels is often the best way to meet a lot of new people very quickly, and by the end of the week, you’ll have heaps of new mates to discover the land Down Under with!

The hostel has 24-hour reception, a travel and information desk so you can get all the top city tips and book tours. The hostel has all the facilities on offer you can ask for, including phone booths on every floor, security lockers, laundry facilities, Internet and Wi-Fi, and a postal service.

What do I do about accommodation after the first week?
After the first week, most of our travellers choose to rent an apartment, often sharing with the new friends they have made in the first week. Our team in Melbourne will be able to help you explore possible accommodation options either in Melbourne or elsewhere in Australia. Please be aware that accommodation costs in Melbourne can be high due to the desirability of the city as a location to live and work, but it’s worth it for the experience! Alternatively, you can apply for jobs further afield in Australia.

You can expect to pay at least £100-£150 per week on average for rent in Australia (costs in Melbourne can be a little higher than average). The minimum contract is normally 2 – 3 months. Alternatively, you can extend your stay in a hostel – a great option for those that want to travel around. Hostels offer cheaper rates for those that want a long term stay. You can often walk in and get a room that day but we recommend that you make a reservation the night before. Depending on where you stay in Australia, you can expect to pay around £90-£130 per week in a hostel.

Please note that when you are working in Australia, you will earn enough to cover any living expenses such as rent, food and bills. If you would like any more information about costs and accommodation please contact us for more details.

They were absolutely awesome. Not only did they helped me in any way possible with how I should plan my travel through Australia and what I should see and do and which hostels are best but they also helped me tremendously with finding work (bank account, tax file number, sim card, what I wanna do for work, how I should apply, who I should apply to, etc..). If you’re heading to Australia book this program and you’ll be thankful for all the helps that they’re gonna give you!
